PostSubject: I'm new, and I have lots of questions   I'm new, and I have lots of questions EmptySat Jul 03, 2010 2:08 pm

Hi, uhm, how do i start this... uhm... ang daming kong mga tanong
Nagsisimula pa lang kasi ako sa pag-aaral ng violin, and I do that on my own (which I think is probably not the best thing to do), kasi i have money issues :)

Hope you could help me answer this questions:

1. I bought this violin, hinahanap ko yung brand sa internet pero mukhang wala naman kaya I don't know i maganda ba siya or what. For 4k, ang brand name ay MOZTEO. Is that okay? :)

2. I recently read about cheap violins being adjust by luthiers, bali yung pagkabili saka pa lang pinaaadjust, and they say that the overall quality can be improved. At the VERY LEAST, magkano kaya ang aabutin sa pagpapa-adjust ng violin?

3. I really want to study under a teacher. :) I'm really on to saving money para lang dito.

@JR

Additional info, a good rosin is a good investment. medyo mahal apero years yun magagamit.
Try mo lang yung mga murang brand like huayin, red label or Innig..

3. You can check Keystrings studio under teacher Liza Coroneza.. Aside from formal lessons kasi, nagcoconduct din ang PinoyViolinist community ng Group lesson/tutorial/EB/get together kapag may spare time..

enjoy your stay.. I'm new, and I have lots of questions 112191

to add to what Jeje had said...

- A student violin somehow becomes better when the bridge and the soundpost is adjusted by a luthier. Mine is Mozart student violin and I had it setup by Mang Anghel Gabute. The sound became better and nagrereverb na din. I recently used dominant strings and somehow I was more contented. All in all, siguro ang nagastos ko na is 8k para masetup ng maganda ang machine made violin. Included na dun yung Eudoxia rosin and an octagonal bow.

- Eventually you would want to have a better instrument. Most of us want a handcrafted one. Andun kasi talaga yung touch of art and yung quality ng sound. But for a beginner, a student violin is already fine.

- There are couple of lessons already posted in the thread. You may want to visit the help and support page. I think there are separate violin lessons directory there.

- enjoy the thread and enjoy the community. Welcome!!!
A big population of the community are beginners, so feel free to post and share your thoughts as well...

@moyskie

i learned that the hard way. kamo, meron pa akong kasama nun na marunong magviolin.

and speaking of budget, i started violin with around a little over 5k lang din.

Good luck!

salamat waterdancer79! medyo parang hirap nga ako sa nabili kong violin, kapag tinotono ko o pinapatono ko sa kaibigan kong marunong, eh parang mabilis siyang mawala sa tono...dapat bang ipapalit ko? hanggang bukas nalang yung warranty niya kasi, sana may makapagreply agad! salamat :)

yep, pag bago strings e malaking factor sa pagkawala sa tono.. tingnan mo rin ang brridge baka yumuyuko.. tsaka dapat tinutulak papasok ang pegs pag tinotono, pag lumuluwag e lagyan mo ng chalk dust ang peg hole at pegs or lead (no. 1 pencil)..

congrats on your new violin. tsaka yup, ganun nga talaga pag bago yung strings, madaling mawala sa tono kasi nagsstretch pa yung strings or something.

I'm new, and I have lots of questions 917627 nagulat sila pareho ng teacher ko sa pagpaset-up ko ng violin na napakamura wehehhe.
