A recreation of the Scene of the Premier of Beethoven's Eroïca Symphony No. 3 ...
from the BBC documentary "Beethoven - Eroïca : The Day that changed Music forever"...
*Based on actual events during the premier of the 3rd symphony

part 1

Notes :
1. Most concerts (private ones) were performed during the day - usually umaga

2. Most music were premiered without rehearsals (or kung meron man, super konti lng) - kailangan talagang marunug mag-sight read w/c was a common thing in Traditional methods of music.

3. Dissonant chords were almost absolutely never regarded as beautiful ... later nalang - our time naging "maganda" ang ganito ... but it was never originally intended or viewed to be "beautiful" ... our concept of beauty is way different from Classical 18th century perception of beauty

4. Played here by the Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique (on period-instruments) conducted by Sir John Eliot Gardiner

5. Period instruments are musical instruments which have been made in the same way that they were hundreds of years ago so that old music will sound like it used to when it was first composed. -wiki

for Orchestras today playing Beethoven's Eroïca Symphony (no. 3) is "sisiw" nalang ... but during Beethoven's time nahihirapan sila kasi Beethoven was pushing the music and the instruments to their limits. They were trained to play beautifully. Wika nga nila "There are so many markings..." "It's off the beat" "we never play louder" "it's hard to follow" ... mas limited ang range ng Natural Trumpets at Natural Horns - since walang valves kinakailangan ng Crooks ng mga Natural Horns para makatugtug ng notes ng certain keys ... Baroque trumpeters use their lips ... "lipsing" ... Natural Horn players use both their lips and their right hand sa Bell ng instrument to "stop" notes ... ^_^

Wala ring standard quipments like bows noon, some were still using baroque bows, transitional bows, Dodd bow, Tourte bow etc ... pati playing technique may variations din by region, by country etc.

...may limits ang physical characteristics ng (Baroque and) Classical Instruments ... and Beethoven's music are almost always beyond these limits ... ^_^

6. as a break from Tradition and Old Customs, friend, student, at admirer ni Beethoven ung Prince dito, (pati ang kapatid etc) ... eto yung time na meron nang sense of Heritage at sense of History ang mga europeans thus making them proud of their culture and right after din ng Death ni Mozart noong 1791 .... People's attitude changed most especially Aristocrats, Royalty and the Common Educated Middle Class (they became enlightend) towards the Genius of these under payed, under appreciated people ... ... ... kaya malakas ang loob ni Beethoven makipag ika nga ni Bursky "rub elbows with the Nobility" ... malaking factor na rin dito ang effect ng French Revolution (the Riegn of Terror) nung 1790s where they Beheaded their King Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette at daan daang mga dugung bughaw at mga Pinaghinalaang kaaway ng Revolution ... si Napoleon Bonaparte - original dedicatée ng Eroïca Symphony was originally the Champion of the poor and the common people

7. This period - during Beethoven's late 20s nagsimulang Magfail ang Hearing nya ... di katagalan nabingi sya ... He was completely deaf later in his life. May tinatawag na "Conversation Notebooks" ... visitors write what they want to say ... sa Beethoven Haus (museum) sa Bonn nandudun yung mga conversation notebooks nya pati yung mga Hearing aid nya na funnel shape na parang horn/trumpet ... :P

part 2

part 3
totoong sinabi ni Ries na "wrong" yung pagpasok ng Horn ... at talagang nagalit sa kanya si Beethoven ... LvB likes to Bend and Break the Rules ... the essense of being a genius !!! One should not be completely bound by rules nor limited by them.

part 4

part 5

part 6
nakipag break up si Princess kay LvB ... Viennese law in those days prohibits marriage by a person with Rank and Title to a commoner. At since walang Rank, walang Title at Commoner lamang si LvB ... bawal sila magpakasal. But they do love each other naman ... J. Austenian conflicts ... ahahaha Beethoven - Eroica: the day that changed music forever 7079 maski ngayon naman eh ... although wala nang law ... hindi naman pabor ang mga magulang ... ahahaha... wika nga ni Shakespeare "Let me not to the marriage of true minds admit impediments. Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds, or bends with the remover to remove ..." Beethoven - Eroica: the day that changed music forever 22
Kaya Removers beware !!! Beethoven - Eroica: the day that changed music forever 91

part 7
i love the reaction on Herr Haydn's face upon hearing the "Avalanche of Notes" Beethoven - Eroica: the day that changed music forever 74395
