Hello!
I'm new here. Found this link in PEX. My friend and I are interested in learning how to play the violin. What violin should we buy? Any other accessories we should get for the violin? Thanks!

Hi, welcome to this thread.
pag bumili ka naman ng violin may rosin at bow na din yung kasama. if you are not so much into tuning, it would be good also if you can have 1 tuner and 1 shoulder rest.
enjoy playing! :bounce:

Wow, lot's of answers! Thanks
@kundarmah Hi!I live near sm north/ trinoma (as in, walking distance). Estimated budget? Hmm, less than 7K I guess, all in! I want to invest more in lessons though.
@marc398 Thanks! I'll keep those in mind when I buy :)
@lionh3a12t Thank sa info! Went to JB Music at trinoma earlier. They have a sale. I saw these brands: Hofner, Schindler, Cremona, Fernando. Which would you recommend? They're all within budget, so I really don't know which to choose. I don't know pa how to play.

Amf yan sabay tayong ng post. XD Nagerror tuloy aken wahahhaha. Pero ganun din, Cremona if you want to invest more on lessons, kung may sobrang budget Hofner.

Thanks Kundarmah and marc398!
When I buy, should I try how it sounds? Or will they play it for me? I'm really excited to buy na... hahaha :) And aside from the wooden tailpiece, any other value-adding features I should look for?
Btw, where did you get lessons? :)

hi daria_dee
i think one thing you should check also are the pegs. check mo kung madali ba magloosen up yung pegs kapag iturn.
i also started ng self study for a couple of weeks. then I enrolled to mam liza also. ok din magself study, though kapag may teacher kasi mas mafoforce ka na ayusin yung pagplay mo pati mawala yung bad habits.
you can pm mam liza here. she's one of the mods.

Guys what do you think about this store? may violin sila na ARCO violin outfit.. maganda rin tunog at disente din kasi hand made daw.
I just inquired Via email sa animato violin australia tinanong ko kung nagshiship din ba sila sa pinas at magkano ang charge. Ang sagot sa akin (Mabilis magreply, within the hour yata)
Quote :
Dear Jake If it is normal post, we will charge $35 and if you want EMS , we will charge $50. We also do not accept fake card. Perhaps, it will be economical for you to buy in Philippines.
Thank you
jae, Animato
Quote :
Dear Jake Western union is fine. Our address is PO BOX 267 RED HILL QLD 4059 The Arco violin outfit is $230 + postage
Thank you

Di nga binanggit kung anung specific na timber yun eh kung Spruce ba or maple or cedar or anu pa man.

I'm sure ordinary wood lang yun.

Yung mga guadadini daw eh yung parang "China-handcrafted-strad style" sa time natin (in my own interpretation).

may mga magagandang wood without flame, yung iba nga several thousand USD ang price but definitely not that Arco violin. Don't tell me nagagandahan ka dun? hehehe

I see..
Kasi madalas, nakapikit ako kung tumutugtog. hehehe Pero marami ako natututunang mga insights from you and Liza.
Im not really sure kung sa customs ng Region 1 mapupunta yun just in case..
@Liza Guadadini pala yung violin nya..
