| I personally recommend these brands because it's reasonable for me plus the sound is okay na for beginners (not so frustrating). This is in particular order. :)
1. Cremona (brown) 2. Fernando (brown or orange will do) 3. Hofner 4. Bachendorff (with black lining, not the orange one)
Minsan kasi may bachendorff na hindi ko type. especially the very cheap ones. So don't get confused too much. Anyway, basically, just check the pegs kung hindi masyadong tight. Usually hofner and bachendorff have tight pegs. Just make sure that the violin that you'll buy looks and feels decent (yes, you can feel it)
Ayun. I think you should buy the 4/4 size even though you think it's too big for you. It depends on your arm length, kung hindi talaga kaya, 3/4 talaga. pero masyadong maliit yung 3/4 for an adult. |

| @zoooey: Choosing the right violin size... 1. Take an arm measurement. Have the student put his left arm out to the side, as straight as possible. Measure only the left arm unless a teacher has said otherwise. Take the measurement from the bottom of the neck straight out to the palm of the hand. End the measurement in the center of the palm. 2. Take the measurement twice to be sure of the exact number of inches. Round the measurement up to the nearest half inch. 3. Choose a size 1/16 if the measurement was 14 inches or less. Choose the size 1/10 if the measurement was 15 inches or between 14 and 15 inches. 4. Choose the size 1/8 if the measurement was between 15 inches and 16.5 inches. Choose the ¼ size for measurements between 16.5 and 18.5 inches. 5. Use a ½ size violin for a measurement of between 18.5 inches and 20 inches. Use a ¾ size if the measurement is between 20 and 22 inches. Choose the ¾ if you are a small adult and the full size is too large. TIP Some violin makers make a 7/8 size that is for professional adult female violinists. This can be a hard size to find, but it is worth looking for if the full is too large and the 3/4 is too small. |

| Well pretty much nasabi na naman lahat nila kung ano yung mga okay na violin na bilhin.
I would just like to add that kahit papaano dapat type mo yung violin na bibilhin mo. Kasi if not, baka lalo kang mas tamarin mag practice. In the end, mas mamomotivate kang magpractice if type mo yung instrument (in this case violin) na binili mo.
Just my two cents. :D |

| Hi, I'm new here. Just want to ask besides the sound quality, what are the other things we have to check first before buying a violin? I've read something about neck alignment and stuff like that but don't actually know how to check for those. Thanks in advance |

| @ Paigenotfound I hope this Helps!
In Checking the Fingerboard Height, you must Stick your Index Finger under the Fingerboard at the under end of it, if your finger Slips easily passing or just at the first joint of your index finger its in the Righ Height but to make sure, you can measure the highest point of the Violin Fingerbord it must be around 20mm it can be 19.1- 21mm
Check the purfling Purfling is the Line around the Violin, co'z there are two types of Purlfings painted Purfling and, Inlaid wood Purfling, Wood Purfling is the best option Check the F hole if both f holes are The same, Check the soundpost if it is in place check the Scroll if I forgot the Specs of the Scroll Check the tuning Pegs if they can be Easily turned or not Slips on its own Check the Fittings if they are all made in the same wood hmm Ithink That's All :D |

| @kanjiruminamoto
Many thanks for the informative guidelines. I'll keep those in mind.
Maybe I should measure the height of the fingerboard with a ruler to be exact.
I'm planning to buy a Hofner, is it good for a beginner or should I stick with other brands?

Best wishes.

| Thanks T@l Blaiser As for - Magsama ng marunong mag violin sa pagbili. Negative, kasi I don't know anyone who plays the violin. Lalo na dito sa place namin. Most info I gathered is from online research lang talaga. Add mo pa yung negative comments I received from friends na "Mahirap magviolin at matagal matutunan" when I simply ask them if they happen to know any violin instructor |

[sorry fox, ngayon ko lang napansin, dahil saglitan lang tayo nag meet noon he he he] Case to case basis ang pag aaral ng violin, most of the time self study talaga, pero magigiging effective ito pag may instructor. |

Masipag naman ako mag self study pero I really need an instructor para sa foundation in playing and to correct na din yung mga bad habits.

@ fox: he he he, maganda ang alfred stingl na nakuha mo.
