INTERLOCK, a two-concert event featuring German composer Dieter Mack and the Ensemble Selisih happens on March 8 and 11 at the Abelardo Hall Auditorium of the UP College of Music in Diliman, Quezon City.
Concert I: Portrait Concert, will be held on March 8, 7 p.m. It will be preceded by a lecture on Dieter Mack’s work at 5:30 p.m.
Concert II, on the other hand, will be held on March 11, 7:00 p.m. It will serve as a world premiere of works by Asian composers Dr. Ramon Santos, Dr. Jonas Baes, Feliz Anne Macahis, Yii Kah Hoe, Iwan Gunawan, and Chong Kee Yong. Concert II will be preceded by a dialogue with Dieter Mack and Prof. Jonas Baes at 1 p.m.
Ensemble Selisih, a Germany-based new music ensemble, will be performing in these events. The ensemble members are Katharina Schröter (flute), Daniela Wahler (saxophone), Max Riefer (percussions), Markus Rombach (saxophone) and Matthias Trapp (piano). Open rehearsals of Ensemble Selisih will be on March 7 and 10, 1 p.m. at the Abelardo Hall Auditorium.
INTERLOCK is organized by the Manila Composers’ Lab, UP College of Music, Goethe-Institut Philippinen and the UP Musical Arts and Research Management Foundation, Inc.
