| well, with the online buying, i simply think thats risky. pero i think what Rommel is trying to say is that, test drive your instrument first and dont go for those cheap knock offs. Gearing up can really encourage you to practice more and practice correctly. Hanggat maari subukan muna ang instrument, mahirap bumili online pero as he said, for someone who knows the instrument, and maybe the maker... makakatulong din ang mga taong madaming alam about sa instrument.
A good sounding instrument for me costs more than 10k here sa atin... 20k pa nga minsan e. I dont know ha, during those days na im changing from student to and advance violin, i tried different instruments na mura and found na maganda talaga tunog pag mejo mahal dahil sa craftsmanship and material. im not saying na panget ang mura a... im sure may maganda din naman jan. pero mas maganda ang mga mahal na instruments.
They say yung mga Bachendorff sounds good daw and comes in a reasonable price, though hindi pa ako nakasubok ng ganun kasi Hofner na German ako all throughout and may mga Hofner din na hindi masyadong maganda ang sound pero you can narrow them down by going to the high priced range.
Well mahal talaga ang violin and mga accesories nito, pero as much as possible bilhin yung maganda na, mapag iipunan naman yun e. with good set of strings and bow. Gaganahan kayo tumugtog.

| ako i started with a cheap 2K violin ... adult beginner so nagmamadaling magstart ng lessons... it would take me at least another year para makaipon for a 10k violin ... after 2 years tsaka lang nakapag upgrade.
Ok na ring nagstart sa mumurahin, kasi daming mga accidents ang nangyari dun sa una kong violin. Nakakatakut lang mangyari yun ngayon sa Hand Crafted ko .... o_O |

| I'm not as good in writing as you are. I honestly thought it was your ego that was hurt when you first replied. Let's stop this nonsense, I believe you're a nice person and if you know me I believe you might think the same too. that's why I deleted my posts to stop this argument. Yes we have total control on our words but we don't have total control on how readers understand our words. You misunderstood my post which irritated me. I also misunderstood your reply. |

| It's a writer's job to make people understand. I guess I failed. Oh well. All's well that ends well. :) |

| and now back to the topic...
While driving through heavy traffic along aurora santa mesa, I saw a nice looking violin hanging in one of the Lumanog music stores. I didn't stop because they don't have parking space. Has anyone been to these Lumanog music stores near SM Sta. Mesa?
It was also in santa mesa where I saw a beggar holding what looks to me as a very nice antique violin. unfortunately I didn't have a single peso in pocket, I could have bought it from him. |

| Ive been there, looking for strings cause i need one badly and that was the nearest sa U-belt. They only sell china strings (this was back 2007) and it costs double the price kesa sa usual na P30- P50. 300 ata isa set. natawa ako e. anyway, i checked their violins din, they sell Parrot mostly and im thinking baka same as those in Raon, Student level na binubukbok na yung wood. Tsk sayang naman diba.
I guess Lumanog in Sta Mesa sells more on guitars kasi thats what they specialize diba? They have a variety of decent guitars pero violin wise, mejo nabigo ako sa shop. So I took the LRT and rode all the way to Salonga cubao to buy strings. |
