PostSubject: Temperature control   Temperature control EmptyTue Dec 28, 2010 10:45 am

Greetings PV and Happy new year.

So PV, anong ginagawa ninyo para ma maintain ang temperature ng violin ninyo para in shape ito pag nag play? built-in heater? chika he he he.

Thank you!

Hello :-)

I think we are very lucky that we live in a humid environment with little temperature fluctuations. Sa US especially sa nothern states, they have to be extra careful with their violins because of the season...extremes talaga. I heard some stories na nag crack yung violin nila dahil they forgot to humidify it in winter.

Yung aking room is in the attic so during summer months I store my instrument downstairs. my brother also does the same to his guitars...better to be safe than sorry. :-)

Kasi sa temperature, basta na-acclimatize yung instrument, it should be no problem. Tapos, hwag din i-store ang instruments sa masyadong mainit na lugar, like leaving it in an attic or the trunk of a car.

For humidity, sabi naman nya 50-60% is best. Sa Pilipinas, usually 60-80% ata ang humidity. I read somewhere that little bags of silica gel inside the case helps. Hindi ko pa lang nga nasubukan ito.

Hope that helps.

I use yung silica gel and it helps talaga. Usually when it's humid yung violin ko sounds unresponsive...parang sluggish.

@Fox: Meron sa Ace Hardware? Magkanu yung silica gel.

I read somewhere that silica gel needs to be recharged. Dunno if this is true but if it were true, how does one do it?

By the way, yung humidity inside my case reads 62% is this good? It's a very humid day right now in my city (Iloilo City). Usually I would know kung very high yung humidity kung nag kakamigraine ako (like right now) Temperature control 561370

@jan

@tal

my hygrometer ung violin ko na sumusukat ng humidity. noong December muntikan na umabot sa "Dry" ung arrow, kaya nilagyan ko ng wet sponge, para bumalik sa normal... ngayong tag init, malamang kakailanganin ko naman ng Silica ^^;

Hehe... Curious ako how temperature affects the sound.

Will try to find out about the silica gel price in Ace when I'm in town.

Pawis and such.

Ung violin ko hinde gaano responsive noong masyadong malamig, at parang ipit ang boses noong December dahil sa lamig. ngayon ayos siya, hinde ko lang alam pagdating ng tag-init at tag ulan ^^;

@ Tal: Last December, I needed to put more weight through my bow arm to make my violin sing. A little responsive talaga yung tunog but with little adjustment, you can make it sing. I'd prefer yung malamig na panahon as I have sweaty hands which is worsened by hot weather.

He he he akala ko na eh truss rod para sa violin ^^;

Hinde ah, sobra ka naman. Kailangan din talaga ang hygrometer, sooner or later bibili ka parin nito, lalo na pag napamahal ka na ng husto sa instrumento mo[para sa instruments lang ito]. pero IMO, mas importante ang comfort ng player, kaya sa magandang bow muna para ma enjoy ang instrument at mas tumatag ang bonding ^^;

@ all
Wood Abilities
in cold Climates or Temperatures Wood Contracts in Relation to cold
>kaya parang naging Stiff all over ang Violin mo Tal

Hot or High Temperatures Result to Expansion of Wood in Relation
on How High the Temperature is..

at pag Mainit Lumuluwang upang lumamig or makahinga
ang Grains ng Wood

Kaya naisip namin na Baka Nag Warp ung Violin mo
dahil mula sa Airconditioned Room Inilabas mo at pinaarawan
ung Violin mo... Temperature control 406424

@Jurusu Diba weather Proof yang Case mo ung Lagi mong Bitbit?
